Battery Storage
Battery storage is now a crucial aspect of the renewables business following the removal of the FIT subsidy. Battery systems also help with the intermittent nature of renewable energy.
Without the subsidy, it is important to use as much of the solar power you generate as possible. For many, this will mean installing a battery storage system to complement your solar panels, and helping you maximise self consumption and reduce electricity bills.
With affordable battery storage systems now available, any surplus energy generated by your solar panels during the day (which would otherwise have been exported) can now be stored for use when the solar panels stop generating and electricity demand in the home increases – usually when people get home from school and work. A storage system therefore helps to maximise self-consumption and cut your bills.
Battery storage is not just ideal for new solar installations, it can also be added to existing systems.

We have been installing battery storage systems since 2016 and have customers who are now only buying approximately 25% of the annual electricity demand.
As with all our installations, we only offer quality products from leading international manufacturers which whom we have a long established relationship and have been accredited.
Most systems come with a 10 year warranty and all come with a comprehensive web based monitoring platform that enables you to monitor and manage the system.
There are a wide range of Solar Storage options on the market and SogoSolar would be pleased to give you a no obligation consultation on battery storage solutions from the following leading manufacturers:
Tesla Powerwall
The Tesla Powerwall is currently the best known battery storage solution for residential and small commercial applications. It looks great and with its 13.5 kWh of storage capacity is big enough for most UK residential applications. The Tesla Powerwall can also provide back-up power in the event of a grid outage.
One of the main features of the Tesla Powerwall 3 is it’s ability to be installed as a DC coupled system i.e. directly connecting and charging the battery with DC power from solar panels. This eliminates the need for a separate inverter and reduces power conversion losses, increasing overall system efficiency
SogoSolar Ltd is proud to be an accredited Certified Installer and has been installing the Tesla Powerwall since 2016.
Enphase
Enphase is headquarted in California, USA. Enphase designs and manufactures software-driven home energy solutions that span solar generation, home energy storage and web-based monitoring and control.
The AC coupled IQ Battery 5P is a key component of the Enphase Storage System which uses unmatched innovation to create a modular, safe solution for the home delivering the highest lifetime value.
Sonnen Battery
Sonnen are a German manufacturer and the leading European manufacturer of grid tied residential battery systems. Sonnen battery systems are modular and as such you have a choice of storage capacity ranging from 5 kWh to 15 kWh.
Sonnen also offer a Hybrid unit which combines the inverter for a solar PV system together with the battery for an all-in-one storage system. Hence just one ‘box’ needs to be installed.
We are an Accredited Installer for Sonnen and have been installing Sonnen battery systems since 2017.
We also installed the first 3 Sonnen Hybrid systems in London in 2018.
SolarEdge Home Battery
The SolarEdge Home Battery 400V is a high-performance energy storage solution that is natively supported into the SolarEdge ecosystem, it stores excess solar energy generated during the day for use in the evening or during power outages. Its advanced lithium-ion technology ensures reliable, long-lasting performance while enabling greater energy independence and efficiency.
Optimized for Efficiency, Built for the Future
Compact, scalable, and easy to install, the SolarEdge Home Battery 400V is perfect for homeowners looking to reduce energy costs and rely less on the grid. It supports time-of-use optimisation, backup power capabilities, and full system monitoring via the SolarEdge app.
