The SolarEdge Battery is a DC coupled battery which will store surplus solar energy generated during the day for use at anytime, day or night. The SolarEdge battery can also be charged at night via an off peak tariff in winter months when solar yields are low and may not fully charge the battery. The SolarEdge system can also provide power during grid outages, during which the solar panels will also continue to work, providing critical power to your whole property.
The battery stores direct current (DC) energy straight from the solar panels, without needing to be converted to alternating current (AC) which leads to increased system efficiency.
Each unit has a usable capacity of 9.7kWh and can provide up to 5kW continuous power output. Up to 3 battery units can be installed per inverter for a total capacity of 29.1kWh per inverter.
Compatibility with both SolarEdge Home Wave and Home Hub inverters allows it to provide real time monitoring through the mySolarEdge app and battery mode profiles, such as Maximise Self Consumption, Time of Use and Backup Only giving you full control over the energy stored by the battery.
