How much do solar panels cost?
Well the answer to that question is almost certainly much less than you think! Remarkably, costs have more than halved over the last 2 years and, whilst we cost each and every job on an individual basis, costs normally range from £4,500 – £7,500 depending on size and choice of components.
Should you find yourself in the position of not being able – or not wishing – to finance a solar installation yourself, then help is at hand with a number of finance options. These range from personal and commercial finance loans to crowd funding schemes. We outline the various options below. If you would like to discuss any of these in more detail then please get in touch.
Domestic finance for solar panels
Given that high street bank have all but given up providing the basic function of lending we suggest approaching Hitachi Personal Finance who are currently providing an Environmental Loan which is available for, but not restricted to, funding for solar.
– loans range from £2,500 to £15,000, for a term of 2 to 5 years;
– rates from 4.1% APR Representative* on loans between £7,500 and £10,000 subject to status;
– Easy online application, instant decision;
– Fixed monthly repayments
– No arrangement fees, no hidden fees
Crowd funding for solar panels
Crowd funding has surged in popularity in recent years as mainstream finance has dried up. There are sites specifically geared towards helping raise finance for renewable energy projects.
Abundance Energy is one such provider and we would be happy to talk to you about putting together a business plan to submit to Abundance. Approved projects are then launched on their website in order to raise the required finance with prospective investors able to download the ‘offer document’ and then decide on how much they wish to invest.
Commercial loans for solar panels
For commercial loans, ‘Energy Efficiency Financing’ is available though a partnership between Siemens Financial Services and the Carbon Trust.
Carbon Trust Implementation Services and Siemens Financial Services are offering financing options to all organisations trading for more than 36 months and are seeking to reduce their own energy use. New, more efficient equipment should lower energy bills and, with financing payments calculated so that they can be offset by anticipated energy savings, the financing option is designed to pay for itself. The independent carbon saving assessment is undertaken by Carbon Trust Implementation Services while the financing is provided by Siemens Financial Services.
Financing can be arranged directly by the customer or through the scheme’s recognised suppliers.
If you are interested in financing a solar installation we can help you with the straightforward application process.
Important note: We are not affiliated with and do not endorse any particular finance or crowd funding company, but have provided these examples for the benefit of our customers. Other companies offering the same or similar services are available.
